Faith ‘n Fun on 25th October was on the theme of love and light
We started by thinking about ways that we sometimes fail to show love or to act in a way that is loving
After saying sorry for those things, and seeing how loudly we could say ‘Thank you’ we used glow sticks to create things that show love and help us to walk in light. You can see some of our creations below:
Then using fire (another form of light of course) we toasted marshmallows!
Please see attached the reflection and notice sheet for this week
Headlines: Worship Sunday 25 October is:
8:30am Morning Prayer Barton St David 10:30am Holy Communion Lydford on Fosse 4pm Faith ‘n Fun Keinton Churchyard No need to book, just come, (obviously as long as you don’t have any symptoms, and please bring a mask) you will be welcome
Please note you do need to book the All Souls’ service on 2 November at 7:00pm in Lydford (phone or email to Jane)
As usual the 10:30am service will be livestreamed (assuming the technology is in compliant mode!)
Two questions for you: Do you have a screen from when you used to show cine film, or slides? If so would you be willing to lend/donate it to one of our churches to use for projection (so we don’t have to cart quite so much stuff week by week)
Would you be willing to learn how to livestream? we’re about to take delivery of a new camera which should make things simpler. It would be good if it didn’t totally depend upon Clive, e.g. when we go on holiday but also it would be good to have a bigger pool of people who can do it. Clive will talk to/train anyone who is willing to find out more
Wednesday 7pm our deanery is holding a vigil to pray for Bishop Peter and his wife Jane and his ongoing treatment for Leukemia. There is a poster attached to this and the Zoom details are on the Zoom details document. Please note that although the Zoom details stipulate that the meeting begins at 5pm, that is purely for us to access it, we will not start to admit people from the waiting room until 6:30, we have space for 500 so we shouldn’t have too much of a problem with space!
Please also note the arrangements for Remembrance (particularly Sunday 8 November) and for All Souls, we do need to know if you’re planning to come to that service, it will also be livestreamed.
Please also note the change in day/date for the Bible Book Club reading Nehemiah, the introduction is attached to this email
The change is because this deanery is hosting a vigil for Bishop Peter, who as many of you will know is currently being treated for Leukaemia. the evening will be led by David MacGeoch and myself and will take place on Zoom, hopefully with participants from across the Archdeaconry. Further details will follow but the initial Zoom details are attached along with those for Bible Book Club.
We apologise that last week’s failure was in sound…. we’re going to keep trying, but may have to resort to recording and then posting, watch this space
