Sunday 17 January

Dear all

Welcome to the mailing for Sunday 17 January

Headlines this week

The benefice council has decided to recommend to PCCs that all worship continues online only at the moment.  You can find the weekly service on our YouTube site here
(Follow the playlist for 17 January 2021)
If you are unable to use YouTube, we would like to know if it would be helpful for you to be able to phone a local dial number and listen to the weekly reflection and intercessions, so please phone Jane (preferably in the next week) to let her know.
The parish magazine will be in print this month.
All other details are on the bulletin attached along with the order of service for Sunday (Morning Prayer for Epiphany) and the reflection and prayers.  The prayers on YouTube will be different.
Meanwhile I hope that you continue to stay well and stay safe

Best wishes

Jane

Sunday 10 January

Happy New Year and welcome to this week’s worship at home!

Headlines for this week

Although this lockdown does still allow public worship is still allowed, we are still on our ‘pause’ benefice council will discuss the situation and our options on Thursday of this week, along with other matters including the benefice magazine.  Therefore we’re still utilising YouTube services, as a playlist as usual, with a paper copy included with the mailing or delivered to those who are not online.

So you can find this week’s worship on YouTube here

While you’re there you might like to look at the choir and the Christmas playlists, which have many of the choir carols in them as well as worship from Christmas Eve.

It also seems sensible to hold a ‘Zoom’ Morning Prayer each week, this is on a Thursday at 9am.  Sunday morning coffee is at 10:00am.   Zoom details for both of these are attached.  The end dates are somewhat arbitrary but I hope this gives us some ways to continue to meet together.  I have attached the order for Morning Prayer in Epiphany.

In the meantime I hope you stay well and safe

Best wishes

Jane

Sunday 3 January

Happy New Year and welcome back to worshipping at home!

Headlines for this week

With the news that we are now in tier 4 it seemed sensible for us to pause in holding in person public worship, at least until after Benefice Council has met and had an opportunity to consider the situation.  Public worship is still allowed, but we are required to do a new risk assessment and pausing to consider the situation is, I think, a sensible approach.  That means we’re returning to YouTube services, as a playlist as usual, with a paper copy included with the mailing or delivered to those who are not online.

So you can find this week’s worship on YouTube here

While you’re there you might like to look at the choir and the Christmas playlists, which have many of the choir carols in them as well as worship from Christmas Eve.

Can we once again voice our thanks to all those who contributed to our Christmas worship.  Yes it was different to usual but it was still very special and the choir’s hard work made all the difference.

It also seems sensible to hold a ‘Zoom’ Morning Prayer each week, this will usually be on a Thursday but this week will be on Tuesday 5 January at 9:00am and we will reinstate Sunday morning coffee, 10:00am Zoom details for both of these are attached.  The end dates are somewhat arbitrary but I hope this gives us some ways to continue to meet together.  I have attached the order for Morning Prayer in Epiphany.

In the meantime I hope you stay well and safe

Best wishes

Jane

Headlines
Please book for Christmas services, if you haven’t already done so, the easiest way is to go here

Sunday worship is:
8:30am Holy Communion Keinton Mandeville
10:30am Morning Prayer Barton St David also we hope on YouTube, although the lack of windows can make livestreaming complex.  If it doesn’t appear at the same time, then we’ll upload after the service as our broadband permits
4pm A Quiet Christmas Lydford on Fosse, this is a quiet and reflective carol service and is open to all

Last week’s Christingle service went well and we look forward to welcoming many of you to one or other of the varied Carol Services, once again if you haven’t already done so please do book!

Many thanks, best wishes and stay safe

Jane
