Barton St David Potato competition
We are very much looking forward to seeing your potato harvest at the Barton St David Carnival, Saturday 18 July. In our first year we have had over 25 entries and if you still fancy your chances, it’s possible to enter on the day, as I have a few buckets spare!
For those that have lovingly nurtured their seed potato since March, please can bring your full bucket complete with soil, so the potatoes can be harvested at the weigh-in tent.
Please cut the stems down to 4 inches above soil & compost tops at home.
There are Adult & Child (U14) prizes for:
– Heaviest crop of potatoes
– Biggest (heaviest) single potato
The Winners will be announced on the day at 3pm. Very much looking forward to seeing you & your crop!
Vicar on a Bike and Keinton Mandeville Reordering
Keinton PCC has for several years discussed making the building more accessible and versatile, removing the trip hazard of the pew platforms and making space for wheelchairs, push chairs and for us to do things differently. We intend to keep four pews which will be able to move, and to have chairs for most of the congregation. Some of the chairs will have arms.
There are currently five chairs in Keinton church, please do sit on them, and note your preferred chairs (first, second and third choice) on the yellow sheet stuck on the vestry door.
To raise some funds for this Jane Durham is planning to cycle 275km this summer. She is going to visit 15 of the 17 other St Mary Magdalene Churches across the diocese over five days. Her first day will be Tuesday 21 July leaving Keinton at 9:15am.
She would love people to sponsor her, and to encourage others to do so too.
There are several different ways that you can do this:
Fill in a sponsor form and either give cash or use the giving gizmo to pay. Please make sure that you only use Keinton or Kingweston’s gizmos and that Jane Durham or Debbie von Bergen know that you’ve paid and how you paid.
Fill in a sponsor form and write a cheque to Keinton Mandeville with Kingweston PCC.
Fill in a sponsor form and use the bank details to pay by BACS, with the reference Bike.
Use the Just Giving QR code (but feel free to reduce the amount Just Giving suggest you give them). You can just search for Vicar on a Bike on Just Giving.

There are posters and ‘luggage label’ type give aways to give people that will give access to the Just Giving page.
Details of the bike rides will come in due time.
Thank you for your support.
