Sunday 18 April

Good afternoon

Please find attached this week’s news bulletin

Please note that on Saturday 17 April each of our bell towers will toll a bell 99 times at midday to mark the death of His Late Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. In Kingweston Church this will be followed by a short act of worship and commemoration. We intend that this will be for 35-40 minutes only. It will include live singing from members of our choir.

Sunday Worship this week takes place in Keinton Mandeville, Morning Worship at 10:30am, we intend to livestream this and you should be able to pick it up on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9tB_kpGA8SZwwyE9AmKvmg? <https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9tB_kpGA8SZwwyE9AmKvmg?>

We are planning to hold more outside services in May, details will be in the next magazine.

I hope that you are well

Best wishes

Jane

Sunday 11 April

Good afternoon

I hope that you’ve had a good Easter

We apologise for the failure in both livestreaming and recording last week, suffice to say we cannot explain what happened, but hope it won’t happen again!

We’re in Lydford Church for Morning Worship on Sunday at 10:30, and there are Zoom details in the bulletin attached for Morning Prayer on Thursday and Bible Book Club on Wednesday evening. I’ve also attached the summary document for Bible Book Club

We hope to livestream on Sunday and I also hope to create a phone service after worship is over, probably uploading it on Sunday evening for Monday morning.

I hope to see you, if you have not been able to get to a service and would like Holy Communion then please let me know

Best wishes

Good Friday’s worship is a playlist on the YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5IFXQG_bfW3NAEZBnyIM6b75zZ3CQPwG It will be live from 8:30am

On the Diocesan YouTube site you can see Bishop Peter’s Easter Message, I’ve used the summary from that message as the front page of the bulletin this week. https://www.youtube.com/user/diocesebathwells

Our Easter Sunday worship is in Lydford Churchyard, starting at 10:30am, please bring chairs and dress appropriately (the sun is due to shine but not much warmth forecast!). We hope to livestream at the same time, (the same link as above) but…… if we fail then we’ll record and upload after the service is over. You are welcome to attend, it helps us if you book, ( https://wheathill.org/ or by phoning Jennie Cooper) but if you don’t then please come and we’ll take details on the day!

If you’re visiting Glastonbury over the next few days, then please visit St John’s where there is an Art Installation created by Rev’d Diana Greenfield on the seven words from the cross, using materials from the Glastonbury Yeast Scrap Store, they’re amazing.

I’ve attached the order of service for Good Friday and Easter Day. If you are attending on Easter Day then we will have orders of service for you in Lydford when you arrive.

I hope that you have a very Happy Easter

Best wishes

Jane

Easter Day
Please book for Easter Day, we’re outside so there isn’t a shortage of space but it makes track and trace much more straightforward and we would like to email the order of service out beforehand, which again is easier if you’ve booked

Please use https://wheathill.org/ and click on the link on the front page
If that isn’t possible then please phone Jennie Cooper on 01963 240236

We may be in the churchyard, leaving the car park free for car parking.

Thank you, I’ve just been vaccinated!

Best wishes

Sunday 21 March

My apologies for a late mailing this week….

Tuesday marks one year since the first lockdown began and we’re encouraged to join in an act of prayer and remembrance. I’ve attached the service that the Church of England has put together, which you might like to use in your home on Tuesday. I will be leading it on Zoom at 7pm, we’ll be finished by 7:20 prior to Lydford PCC which begins at 7:30. Keinton Church will be open as usual on Tuesday afternoon and you might like to go there to spend a moment in prayer and reflection.

Our service this week utilises the reflection provided by the Diocese of Bath and Wells, this week from Ian Tomkinson the chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance.

Next Sunday 28 March, Palm Sunday there will be a service on YouTube, and at 4pm Faith ‘n Fun will gather in the Churchyard and we’ll tell the Easter Story together. For the following three weeks there will be Easter Trails in all four churchyards, with an Easter Egg available for each child who completes each churchyard. Details are on the trail which I will send out next week.

On 4 April, Easter Day we’ll gather for In-person worship in Lydford Car Park and Churchyard. Please book via https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwheathill.org%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7Cf20309da335545fdd9fd08d8eadce9f2%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637517582114823460%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=bBbvD3ChkCTucFTPF5%2BsRpX27ISLcfbjw1w5viFnRS0%3D&reserved=0

I hope that you’re well and enjoying some longer days, with less mud and a bit more sun from time to time!

Best wishes
